CAUSE: Fenway Health
I am again volunteering to crew SAG (Support and Gear) for the Harbor to the Bay - a Charity bike ride for Aids. I'll be driving one of those vans along the route, with friends Andy, Rycardo, Joe, and Daljit, making sure that all of the riders safely make it to the finish line in time. It's a 15 hour day, getting up at 3am to get and prep our vehicles, with 12 hours on the road and 10 pit stops along the way, culminating with a ride down Commercial St. ending at the Boatslip for closing ceremonies and a well deserved meal. The people you meet, and their stories and their reasons for riding are truly inspirational!
I know that you are all bombarded with requests like this everyday, even from me. I am asking you to support my efforts with whatever you can afford. This year I have chosen that 100% of the donations you give to support me will go to Fenway Health here in Boston, an organization that has proudly served our community since 1971, and is a leading HIV AIDS research institution, the first in the nation to do community based research.
Have I mentioned that this organization is 100% volunteer? No one gets a paycheck, and 100% of your donation goes directly to the cause.
Riders are required to raise a minimum of $1000, and they hope that crew can raise $250. I'm going for $500, will you help me reach that goal?
