Harbor to the Bay gathers the email addresses and phone numbers because it is important that we can communicate with participants about the Harbor to the Bay AIDS Ride and related fundraising events. Harbor to the Bay may occasionally conduct participant surveys to improve online registration and donation process, website, and event in general.
Harbor to the Bay requires information such as name, mailing address, email address, credit card numbers and expiration date during the donation process. This information is used only to verify and complete the transaction, send confirmation email regarding the transaction, and provide year-end tax documentation about the donation. If a donation is directed toward the fundraising goals of specific riders, crew members or teams, the contact information will be visible to them so they may thank you for your support.
Usage trackingHarbor to the Bay tracks user traffic patterns throughout our site. However, we do not correlate this information with data about individual users. Harbor to the Bay does break down overall usage statistics according to a user's domain name, browser type, and MIME type by reading this information from the browser string (information contained in every user's browser).
We use tracking information to determine which areas of our sites users like and don't like based on traffic to those areas. We do not track what individual users read, but rather how well each page performs overall. This helps us continue to build a better service for you.
